Why don't I see the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar on my browser?
 
If you have installed the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar and do not see the icon, or you installed a new version of Internet Explorer and the University of Florida Libraries toolbar is no longer displayed, go to View > Toolbars and click on the University of Florida Libraries option. If you don't see the University of Florida Libraries toolbar listed, follow the instructions below.

How can I move the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar to a different location?
 
Note: If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, you must unlock the toolbars before you can move them. Right click on the toolbar and deselect the Lock the Toolbars option.
 
You can change the location of the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar on your browser by clicking and dragging the vertical separator bar to the left of the University of Florida Libraries icon by placing the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar in the desired location. This functionality enables you to place two (or more) toolbars on the same line if you want to conserve space in your browser.
 
Please note that, as with all of Internet Explorer's toolbars, you can only move the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar to locations on the top of your browser window. Toolbars can not be placed on the side or bottom of the browser window.

Why don't I see the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar listed in the Internet Explorer toolbars list?
 
Some earlier builds of Internet Explorer 5.0 have a known problem with their toolbars. The University of Florida Libraries Toolbar may be listed under the name 'Radio' (usually the second such listing). Go to View > Toolbars and click on the second Radio option.

Does the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar conflict with my browser or other add-ons?
 
No, the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar is designed to run without affecting any other system add-ons.

I installed the new version of Internet Explorer (6.0).
Why doesn't the University of Florida Libraries icon appear on my browser?
 
In Internet Explorer, go to View > Toolbars and check that the University of Florida Libraries option is selected. If not, select it.

Install the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar again and then uninstall it.

Why did I get a page that says "The page you're looking for was not found"?
 
If your community toolbar is currently active and you got to a page with the message "The page you're looking for wasn't found" next to the logo and name of your toolbar publisher, it means the following: Your community toolbar has detected that the page you were navigating to was not found, so you got to an alternative, more helpful Search page instead of the generic page usually displayed (called a 404 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/404_error) or DNS error page). Your search automatically appears, so you can just click Search to try again. If you'd rather, you can type in a different search. To disable this feature, please click the Toolbar Options item in the drop-down menu under your toolbar's logo, open the Additional Settings tab, and clear the check box next to the text Fix "page not found" errors. Please note that this feature may not be available for all community toolbars.

At this time the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar does not work with MSN Explorer.

To uninstall the University of Florida Libraries Toolbar from your Firefox browser do as follows:
  • Open Firefox and click on the "Tools" menu.
  • Select "Extensions".
  • Find University of Florida Libraries in the list of installed extensions and click on it.
  • Click on the "Uninstall" button.
